Draw Feather

With TOP the user disposes of a series of standard flaps – reported in the table UNI 6604-69 – which can be managed using a dedicated dialogue box. The only important parameter to draw the flap the user can modify is the shaft’s diameter (even with the bhx dimensions) to combine to.

• What
• Draws a feather with lateral, front or plan view.

• Why
• To insert in a drawing a feather conform to UNI standards, and possibility to create a part and manage the element in the material’s BOM.

• How
• A dialogue-box opened by the command displays: the feather’s view; a text-box to insert the shaft’s diameter; a button to set the diameter by selecting two points on the screen or inserting a circumference; a list of all available lengths for the type of flap; a text-box with the feather’s characteristic values “b” and “h”; and a switching button to set if to create the feather’s part or not. The code of the feather’s part is customizable by editing the value in the appropriate space. If inserted, the code will be created automatically. Click on Menu Codify and a dialogue box appears and allows the user to select a specific feather between all those codified.

Once selected the feather and the view mode in the dedicated dialogue-box, insert the layering point and the insertion angle.

To modify the feather’s view, click on the image.

If the feather’s diameter is inferior or superior to the minimum and maximum diameter set in the UNI table, it will be changed with the closest available value.

To change the type of flap, press the button Type… to display another dialogue-box and select one of the available flaps.

For each flap, select in the dialogue-box if to draw only the flap, only the slot of a specific flap, or both elements (total).

If the value of the shaft’s diameter is unknown, return to the main dialogue and select the circumference by pressing the button Diameter Shaft <, and press ENTER to enter the diameter. To insert a flap having the values “b” and “h”, act in the text- box which has these parameters. The selection in the diameter settings dialogue-box will be deactivated.
