Annotation Styles Manager

What

Allows you to manage, create and edit annotation styles  for the current environment.

Why

Through the interface of this command it is possible to see and manage the styles present in the drawing and the prototypes of the work environment.

When you set a particular style current, all QS annotation commands executed from that point on will work according to the settings of that style.

How

You just need to select the command and confirm.

Once the command is launched, the user will be shown the following interface that allows the management of annotation styles.

On the left are listed the balloon styles present in the current drawing, while in the right column we can see the styles present in the work environment which we will call “ Prototypes ”.

The asterisk next to the style name indicates the current annotation style.

Commands related to the Local Styles of the current drawing.

The “ Default ” prototype , marked with '*', is always present, it is impossible to delete it and represents the prototype that is always loaded into the drawing.

In the left section, below the list of current drawing styles, there are 4 buttons that we will now analyze in detail:

“Set Current”  allows you to set the currently highlighted style as current.

“Import”  allows you to import a prototype defined in the current environment (visible in the list on the right) into the drawing.

“ Rename ” allows you to rename a local style to the drawing, without affecting the naming of the environment prototypes.

Align from Prototype " allows you to align the local style settings of the drawing to the associated prototype (if present), so as to update the local style of the current drawing with any changes made to the starting prototype.

Associate " allows the user to select a set of balloon objects (Title Block, Table, Bullet...) and make them point to the current local style. This operation simply changes the reference of these entities, but does not update the situation in real time, i.e. it does not modify the entities according to the style to which they are associated.

Commands related to prototypes declared in the work environment.

The “ New ” button allows you to define a new prototype, taking the selected one as a basis. By clicking on this button, you will be asked for the name of the new prototype and once you have given OK, the style will be added to those of the environment.

The ballooning prototypes are saved inside the “PallCartStyles” folder of the work environment. For each prototype, a specific .PRS file is created containing the ballooning settings.

The “ Save from Style ” button allows you to save a style present in the drawing in the current environment, useful when opening drawings created by third parties, with prototypes not present in the work environment.

To modify the prototype just inserted, click on the “ Customize ” button, in this way the PallCart options dialogue will be displayed, through which the user can set the characteristic data of the shot blasting.

“Delete”  allows you to delete the selected prototypes from the work environment.

The “ Rename ” button allows you to rename a balloon prototype, without affecting the nomenclature of the local styles in the drawing,

In the lower part of the dialogue we find the general operations of the balloon styles, in particular we find the two buttons that allow us to save and delete the " Configurations ". With configuration we mean the set of styles local to the drawing and the local default style.

The last button " Advanced " opens a further dialogue from which we can modify the advanced options reserved for expert users. At the moment there is only one option: "Automatic alignment of the properties of the styles associated with the prototypes when loading the drawing." . This option, if set, automatically updates the local styles to the drawing when opening a drawing in accordance with the configuration of the associated prototype (if present).
