Compact Pneumatic Cylinders

With TOP, the user disposes of a library with all the compact pneumatic cylinders conform to the standard ISO 21 287.

This window allows a complete graphical and registry management of the cylinder, and creates a dedicated part.

  • Click on the library’s icon to open the dialogue-box described here above to select the cylinder to draw.

On the top left is displayed the cylinder’s preview. Right under is displayed a drop-down menu to select the type of compact cylinder (simple or double acting).

According to the selection, a different drop-down menu will be displayed to select the desired version. Once carried out these selections, always in the left column, it is possible to customize the cylinder-rod: draw it normal or passing through the cylinder's structure; decide if the thread at the rod’s point is male or female.

According to the previous settings, these two settings could be deactivated to avoid errors (e.g. if a version existing only with a male thread is selected, it is not possible to modify the type of thread). In the central column, in the middle is displayed the button to switch from the main menu to the menu Codify, as for the other libraries.

Two numeric values are requested to set the cylinder’s stroke and, according the selected version, the extension value of the thread (male) or of the cylinder-rod (both, click on the button “<”, to allow the value as a dimension from the drawing). If a version which does not allow any kind of modification is selected, the second insertion-box is deactivated to avoid any error. Below are displayed two commands to select any option to insert in the cylinder. To select these options do not influence the drawing, but it is necessary to for the component’s coding.

The last section of this column is dedicated to the registry. It controls the creation of the part and of the component’s code. The column on the right is necessary to select the component’s view and layering point, and to draw the cylinder-rod extracted or not.

Once carried out these selections, select from the list below the desired cylinder according its technical specifications. Once set the parameters, press the button ok to place the compact cylinder in the drawing.
