Projection from 3D [MS:INTAVOLA]
The program allows you to quickly obtain the projection of a solid created with Autocad or Mechanical Desktop with the “MS:INTAVOLA” command.
The drawing command offers the possibility of obtaining the 6 basic views of the solid and an isometric view, offering the possibility of drawing visible lines and hidden lines on user-definable planes.
Executing the command will display the dialog box in the figure.
Above we have all the available views of a solid object. These views can be activated or deactivated by acting on the check boxes.
There are numerous options available:
- Defining the plane name for visible lines
- Defining the plane name for hidden lines
- Retraction factor of projected views
- Removing overlapping lines
- Removing zero-length lines
Before being launched, this command requires the launch of the “_SOLPROF” and “_ROTATE3D” commands which are used to automatically load the Autocad 3D kernel. These commands can be suppressed by pressing “ESC”.
Position yourself in the TOP view of Autocad and zoom to correctly frame the object in the Autocad graphic screen.
Launch the command. Once the projection parameters have been defined, simply press OK.
Select the object.
The program will perform a series of operations to adjust the object and finally reposition itself on the original view. By acting on the zoom command you will be able to see the projected views of the solid object.
