The category module inserts in TOP a concept similar to layers. With the layers as the base of the part’s structure, the TOP AutoCAD cannot execute determined operations, such as:

  • Carry out a graphic entities’ selection transversal to the parts.
  • Obtain a better separation between the drawing's mechanical structure and its organisation.

Usually the goal is to deliver a tool for the drawing’s graphical organization not connected to the parts’ structure.
