Roughness

Menu: Top > Roughness...

  • What
  • Inserts in the drawing a roughness symbol set in a dialogue box.
  • Why
  • Increases the speed to insert a symbol in the drawing through a dialogue box which allows a practical and intuitive insertion of the parameters associated to the roughness.
  • How
  • The command Top_Rugosita activates the following dialogue-box.

In the centre of the dialogue is displayed the basic graphic symbol which represents the roughness around which are displayed the associated parameters. The roughness symbol can be replaced by other two graphic signs (surface metal cutting and no surface metal cutting) by clicking on their icons in the area reserved to the parameters, as described in the above image.

To set the other roughness parameters insert in the appropriate boxes the necessary values except for RaMax and RaMin, which default values can be selected only with the drop-down menu. The kind of working and basic length are selected with the keyboard or with the drop- down menu, which options are data the user can add. To add a voice to the drop-down menu is simple. Write a line once and set the storage box , so, when set the roughness at the new command, the voices inserted in the previous sessions are displayed in the drop-down menus.

The colours of the graphic and of the text can be selected with the two buttons with the same name on the bottom right, while the height values are inserted with the keyboard.

Another important characteristic is the possibility to insert the roughness in the drawing not as a single symbol but as a summary of the previous insertions. Thus, it is possible to set one roughness for all parts of the drawing which also lists the other roughness used specifically for certain components.

There is also the possibility to reset all parameters with the button on the bottom left.

Once set the roughness, press OK and place the symbol indicating the layering point and the final rotation angle. For angles above 90° and inferior or equal to 270°, the roughness is positioned mirroring automatically the text and the graphics.
